More than 18,000 visitors are set to travel to Tauranga for one of the biggest music festivals in New Zealand, but with the influx of people comes a traffic warning.
With Bay Dreams fast approaching on January 2, the promoter has key transport information for Tauranga locals, surrounding traffic and the affected roads.
There will be significant traffic management in place along State Highway 2, SH29A and Truman Lane with installation commencing from 8am on January 2.
It is suggested drivers keep travel on affected roads to essential travel only on January 2 between 11.30am and 5pm, and 9pm and 11pm.
Expect major delays around the hotspots, especially Hewletts Rd and Sandhurst interchange with both the Bay Dreams traffic and the existing temporary traffic management already in place for the Bayfair to Baypark flyover project.
