TLC fans rejoice at Tauranga show announcement

Chart topping nineties R&B band TLC are coming to Tauranga and fans are getting ready to snatch up tickets.

TLC, an all-girl trio big in the nineties and early 2000s, hit the charts in New Zealand and the world with songs such as Creep, Waterfalls, No Scrubs and Unpretty.

Following Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' tragic death in a car crash in 2002, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas carried on as a duo and will be coming to Tauranga on November 12.

Fan Felisa Skov was excited about seeing a childhood favourite.

"I'm so excited, they are awesome. I think everyone is going crazy about it," she said.

"Not many good gigs come here to Tauranga."

Miss Skov recalled falling in love with TLC when her sister introduced her to the band.

"I looked up to her when I was little and ended up loving them just as much. Me and my friends were always singing along to them."

Miss Skov predicted the show would be a sell-out and was "freaking out" she might miss out on a seat.

Kylee Morris said she was excited the band was coming after so long - especially that they had chosen Tauranga as a destination.

"I will definitely try and get tickets," she said. "I listened to them in the early 2000s, I think there will be heaps of people in their thirtiess there."

Mrs Morris said she had a teenage daughter that had also fallen in love with TLC, proving the band was still enduring today.

Aleisha Clement said she had been a TLC fan for a long time.

"It takes me back to the days at garage parties when we were too young to go to town.

"I'm super excited. I can't believe we will actually get to see them live, and in Tauranga."
