Police and emergency services are on the scene of a three-vehicle crash on State Highway 2 in Te Puna.

A police media spokeswoman said police received a report of a three-vehicle crash on State Highway 2 near the intersection with Te Puna Station Rd at 5.38pm.

Information was limited at this point, but it was understood one person had suffered moderate injuries, and it did not appear the road was closed, the spokeswoman said.

Tow trucks were on the way to the scene, she said.
