SAD SIGHT FOR DRINKERS: The public bars have become the first piece of the Bureta Park Motor Inn to be reduced to rubble by A & J Demolition.
Heavy machinery got to work once easily accessible recyclables such as roofing iron had been removed. The rubble was then pulled apart so the last of the metals could be extracted.
The $19,500 contract to level the site will be followed by construction of a $30 million Countdown supermarket, with the project expected to be finished by the end of September.
