High performance fitness class members in Tauranga are putting all their energy into a fundraising night for the Heart Foundation.
The high performance class (HPA) class at The Gym on First Ave is hosting a 50th anniversary dinner, with most of the proceeds going to the Heart Foundation. The other part of the fundraising is to help take their class of 10 ''fitness fanatics'' to an upcoming fitness event in Australia — the Spartan Race.
The class trains intensively about five times a week. They also attend competitive fitness events across the country.
The team consists of Laurie Andrew, Jane Medlicott, Haylee Aitken, Richard Wisnewski, Alistair Kellett, Cassia Lee, Gina McNeely, Stefan McNeely Andrew Marston, Tahlia Maurirere and Richard Joseph.
But the main goal of the charity dinner has been to raise at least $5000 for the charity. Organiser Richard Joseph is proud to say they have raised this amount and a big cheque was presented to the Heart Foundation on Monday.
