Temporary Mauao track closure for plant pest control

Targeted aerial spraying on Mauao has been delayed until tomorrow morning due to wind.

The Waikorire and four-wheel drive tracks are expected be closed from 5.30am to 10.30am.

The closure is to ensure visitor safety during a targeted aerial spraying operation to control a Japanese honeysuckle infestation on the southern face of Mauao.

The Oruahine Track to the summit and the Base Track will remain open and will have signs in place.
