Firefighters responding to reports of a forklift on fire at a Te Puke packhouse were a little surprised when they arrived.
A northern fire communications spokesman said firefighters were called to the fire at the EastPack pack house on Quarry Rd at 10.14am.
The spokesman said initial reports were thata forklift was on fire, but firefighters managed to pull the forklift from the flames which were burning in a "big rubbish bin".
One firetruck from the Te Puke fire brigade attended.
