Tauranga student lists tent on Airbnb for Easter weekend accommodation

An enterprising Tauranga student has listed a tent on Airbnb for the long weekend.

The Welcome Bay listing includes one image of a dome tent in a front yard, advertised as a one-bedroom suitable for up to four guests - but not babies under 2 or pets.

The price is $50 per night for one person plus $40 for each subsequent guest.

"Just for the long weekend, includes mattress and covers and led light, welcome to use the kitchen and bathroom and common areas."

The listing has one review from January 2018: "Thanks good place to stay."

Host "Rob" is described as an entrepreneur and Waikato University student. He has three other room listings ranging from $49 to $159 a night, all of which appear to be in the same house.

A search of Airbnb for Easter accommodation in Tauranga brings up a warning that only 8 per cent of listings are left unbooked.
