Tauranga lawyer Craig Tuck will begin a trial from today in China for drug smuggling accused kiwi Peter Gardner.
Gardner, 25, was arrested on suspicion of trying to smuggle 40kg of methamphetamine out of China in November last year.
Gardner's trial begins today and is expected to take two days.
Mr Tuck is also defending high-profile drug accused Tony de Malmanche, who was arrested in Bali last year.
Mr Tuck is also a member of the international legal team trying to save the life of British grandmother Lindsay Sandford, 58, by mounting a last-ditch appeal after she was found guilty of smuggling $3.3 million worth of drugs into Bali.
