On Monday the Tauranga Girls' College History/Classics Trip went to the Nine Elms Cemetery near Leper, and located the grave of Dave Gallagher, the famous Katikati All Black captain of the 1905 team.
He was killed at the Battle of Passchendaele in 1917.
In honour of the visit they held a small ceremony for the Katikati legend.
The Katikati rugby club gifted a comparative plaque in memory of him - "Forever Remembered".
