The Tauranga City Council has voted to expand the High Performance Sports Centre by confirming the sale of the property on Miro St.
Yesterdat Bay Venues Limited was given approval to purchase the site for $618,750 in order to expand the centre in the future.
Opposition to the sale was met by Councillor John Robson, who said, although he backed the project of the expansion, the asset should be "properly valued" before the sale went ahead.
"I believe it has been undervalued," he said.
This was echoed by councillor Rick Curach, who said the property should be valued according to the market.
