Street party at Pukehina Beach to raise funds for new surf clubhouse

Pukehina Surf Rescue members are working tirelessly to redevelop their current outdated base into a building of beauty.

The plan is for a building that will be for the club's operations and for the wider community to utilise.

New buildings cost a lot of money, and require passion, effort and commitment to achieve.

Showcasing the project to the community by way of a Labour Weekend Street Party this Sunday is Pukehina Surf Rescue's latest fundraiser.

It's a chance to celebrate summer coming and the season ahead with a boogie to the live music, an easy dinner from the food carts and an evening overlooking the stunning beach and estuary.

This is a licensed event, so please no BYO.

Adults are $10, kids are free. Bring your dancing shoes, something to sit on when you can't dance anymore, and cash for raffles. A sober driver is available to drop people home along Pukehina Beach out to the SH2 turnoff.

The event is at the surf club end of Pukehina Parade from 3pm-9.30pm on Sunday.
