St John's boost from award winner

St John in Tauranga has received a $250 donation from the winner of the 2014 Trustpower Tauaraga Youth Community Spirit Award.

Adam van Leeuwen from Aquinas College was named as winner of the Award for his service to school and community.

For winning the award Mr van Leeuwen received a framed certificate and $500, with an additional $250 being donated to St John.

Vaughan Coy the Divisional Manager of the St John Welcome Bay Youth Division said Mr van Leeuwen's donation would be used to help fund leadership courses.

"Adam is a very generous and humble young man and it was great to see his efforts recognised this evening. He invests a huge amount of his time into mentoring young cadets and is a great role model for the younger members," Mr Coy said.
