The St John appeal is back.
It runs from April 4 to 10 with fundraising initiatives and volunteer collectors across the country with the goal to raise $2 million. The donations will be used to buy ambulances and lifesaving equipment for communities throughout New Zealand.
St John Chief Executive Peter Bradley said demand for their services had never been greater and as a charity they relied on the generosity of the communities they served.
"We never take their trust and support for granted," he said.
In Bay of Plenty local rest homes, schools and preschools were already showing their support including The Sand Box Preschool, Maungatapu Preschool, Kids Space Early Learning Centre, Melrose Rest Home and Retirement Village, Te Puke Country Lodge and CHT Bernadette.
