A Tauranga man has dyed his beard an outrageous shade of pink in support of October's Pink Ribbon Street Appeal for breast cancer.
Jarrod Langman had been sporting the pink beard for the past few days after hairdresser friend Nina Williams helped with the dye job. Mr Langman said he had a few friends who had been affected by breast cancer.
"I have also lost someone in my family before and the biggest thing for me was having people there that supported me through that time; knowing others out there cared."
A friend mentioned they should do something to mark the month at the bar where they work, Keystone in Hamilton, and Mr Langman jumped at the idea and hoped to raise money for the cause too.
The former Tauranga Boys' College student said the bleach used to dye his beard was so strong he had to wear a snorkel set during the process.
