New Zealand band Shihad are celebrating 30 years in the business with an anniversary tour that is set to land in the Mount this October.
Since they formed in 1988, ban members Jon Toogood, Tom Larkin, lead guitarist Phil Knight (who they found through a music shop noticeboard ad in 1989) and bass player Karl Kippenberger, who joined the band in 1993, have released nine studio albums — five of which have hit the number one spot in New Zealand.
As well as their own sellout tours they have toured with big names including Motorhead, Metallica, Faith No More and AC/DC.
They were inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall Of Fame in 2010.
As part of the 30-year celebrations, Shihad will be releasing their classic LP The General Electric on vinyl for the first time, 20 years since its original release.
