A severe weather warning for the Bay of Plenty has been lifted, despite plenty of rain drenching the region this morning.
Metservice issued the warning last night, advising of bursts of heavy rain expected to hit the northern parts of New Zealand, including the Bay of Plenty.

A very moist, sub-tropical airmass has been covering the upper North Island, bringing bursts of heavy rain through to late Tuesday morning. The heaviest falls were expected about Northland.
As of 8am the warning has been lifted. However, rain is still expected to fall in the Bay of Plenty for most of the day, with a high of 22C and overnight low of 16C.
