Doing this in front of people is plain wrong and selfish.EVERY so often, a quirky story comes along that gives readers a bit of a chuckle.
Yesterday's front-page story on the naked jogger no doubt did this for many people.
But this case has a serious side to it.
The man concerned was
only wearing running shoes as he ran around McLaren Falls park for 45 minutes. It is concerning that during this time people, including children, saw him.
Thankfully police were called and he was arrested.
The man claims he is a naturist.
Naturists are a pocket of society who prefer, where possible, to wear no clothes. Often they will meet and spend time together. Last year, the Bay of Plenty Times did a feature article on them and it was one of the most popular stories we have published, judging by online hits.
But doing this in front of people who don't want to see them naked is plain wrong and selfish.
McLaren Falls park is a popular destination for people from all walks of life - including schoolchildren on trips.
It is doubtful whether this man is a real naturist. Either way, he has acted stupidly.
