The Tauranga TECT Rescue Helicopter was called to a crash between a car and a logging truck in Coromandel.
At 4.30pm, the helicopter was called to the crash on State Highway 25 between Whangamata and Whiritoa.
The car and truck collided on a bend causing the truck to overturn andlose its load, pilot Liam Brettkelly said.
The truck driver was uninjured, but two occupants of the car needed hospital treatment.
The driver received serious arm injuries and was flown Waikato hospital and his passenger, a 20-year-old Whitianga man, was flown to Tauranga hospital with shoulder and neck injuries, his condition was moderate.
