A person has been critically injured in an incident involving a vehicle and a cyclist.
Grenada St in Mount Maunganui was closed while emergency services responded to the crash about 4.40pm on Thursday, police said.
A Hato Hone St John spokeswoman said one ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and an operations manager went to the scene and one patient was taken to Tauranga Hospital in a critical condition.
The Serious Crash Unit is now investigating.
