Tauranga will feature in one of the episodes of reality romance series The Bachelor NZ when it hits television screens in March, but filming is shrouded in secrecy as the Tauranga tourism operators involved have had to sign confidentiality agreements.
Hosted by television personality Mike Puru, The Bay of Plenty Times understands the episode featuring the Bay of Plenty was filmed this month. Su-an McMahon, owner of vintage wedding venue, The Old Forest School, in Pongakawa, confirmed she had signed a confidentiality agreement with the makers of The Bachelor NZ and was not able to comment.
Aucklander Art Green is speculated to be the star of The Bacherlor New Zealand.
Kristen Dunne, head of marketing at Tourism Bay of Plenty said that a number of operators were involved but all were subject to strict confidentiality agreements until the show aired.
