Volleyball: The Junior A and Year 9 A teams went down to Wellington last week to compete in the North Island Junior Secondary Schools championships. The tournament was very competitive with a number of regions, specifically Wellington, improving a great deal from 2014.

Our Junior A team was placed 14th in division one, going down to local rivals Otumoetai College Junior A in the 13th/14th play-off. Our Year 9 A team won their last game to be placed 15th in division two.

This team continued to improve throughout the week and learnt a lot from being involved in this event.

Angel Haeata-Burrows and Mackenzee Harris have since been selected in the BOP U15 Development team.

They head off to compete in the IPC U15 Championships held in Auckland on December 19-20.

A highlight of the tournament was Angel Haeata-Burrows being selected by the tournament director and referee delegate to referee the division one girls' final.

This was a huge honour for Angel and she performed this role outstandingly.

Angel was awarded the Junior Girls Referee of the Tournament plaque.
