Conservative Party member Larry Baldock has launched a petition to convince the Electoral Commission not to take Pyes Pa out of the Tauranga Electorate and put it into the Bay of Plenty.

He will present the petition to the commission when it sits in Tauranga to hear submissions.

So far, eight out of every 10 Pyes Pa residents approached had agreed to sign the petition.

A copy will be put in Greerton Library.
