Visiting artists, workshops, discussions and an exhibition were all part of St Mary's School art week last week.
The overarching theme was cultural diversity, with classes choosing a country or culture and studying its art. Some classes went further to learn more about the country they had chosen.
Artist Murray Clode worked with students to create a Pixilated Face made up of individual squares, while Lipika Sen visited with her Tricky Box 8 and to talk about conceptual art.
"Art is an important part of our curriculum that allows kids to be creative and innovative," says art teacher Laura Grace.
Matua Iwi, Kim Artus, Nicola Sanders, Helen Reijthar, Rob McGregor, Julie and Peter Green, and Lisa Meehan all contributed to the art week.
