The flotilla of boats opposing deep sea oil exploration off East Cape sailed into Tauranga yesterday to support the protester due to appear in Tauranga District Court on Friday.
Rough weather saw the flotilla take shelter after three weeks of opposing the exploration programme.
A public rally is expected to be held on the Tauranga waterside about 11am on Friday.
