Vehicles belonging to tradesmen has become a growing target for thieves in the Western Bay of Plenty region.
As well as stolen vehicles, other stolen items include nail guns, various power tools, heat guns, socket sets, laser levels and more, said a statement from Sergeant Phil Gillbanks of Papamoa police station.
Mr Gillbanks said the thefts were primarily concentrated in the Papamoa area however they have now reached other parts of Tauranga.
The thefts are occurring over night from residential streets and have resulted in a large number of power tools and trade equipment being stolen, Mr Gillbanks said.
Police are seeking the public's help to catch the thieves and would appreciate any information regarding suspicious behavior near trade vehicles, or any information around the sale or supply of cheap tools.
