Person injured in crash on Te Puke Highway

One person has been seriously injured in a two-car crash on Te Puke Highway.

Emergency services were called just before 6pm.

The road was closed and diversions were in place along Te Matai Rd and Brown Rd.

A St John spokeswoman said one ambulance was sent to the scene and took a patient with moderate injuries to Tauranga Hospital.

Another patient was treated for minor injuries at the scene, she said.
