A relay intended to spread peace across the world is touching down in Tauranga today.
The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run, in its 32nd year, will stop at five Tauranga schools as part of its quest to run the length of New Zealand.
The team of 12 runners will see pupils at Tauranga Intermediate, Bellevue Montessori School, Otumoetai Primary School, Pillans Point Primary and Greerton Village School.
Tomorrow, the group will move on, visiting schools in Rotorua and Taupō.
For the first time, one Peace Torch of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run will encircle the globe in 2019, visiting every nation in the Southern Hemisphere.
