The pop-up park on Devonport Rd is well under way.

Tauranga City Council city development project leader Morgan Jones said the park, which is going in the space where two empty buildings were demolished, was going "really well" and artwork on the columns was now tomorrow.

A mural of Mauao with nautical images will adorn the space, as will oversized furniture made by a Greerton designer, and artificial turf.

Mr Jones said the council wanted the park to be completed as soon as possible and that it would be open for parking during December.
