Golden Sands School students ran away with top 20 spots at the North Island Cross Country Championships in Taupo early this month.
The school sent a strong team of runners (Years 3-6) and nearly all placed in the top 20, earning enough points to win the overall schools trophy.
The students had competed in the Golden Sands School beach cross country as well as Mount Cluster, WBOP and BOP cross country events.
The championships were held on a freezing cold morning.
Everyone else had shoes on but most of the Papamoa runners were in bare feet.
