Otumoetai College Rowing is holding an open day next Sunday.
It is an ideal opportunity to try out one of the most popular sports in New Zealand fresh from the Rio Olympics' success.
"We row under the Bay Coast Rowing Club banner based on the beautiful Wairoa River.
"Regattas are held at Blue Lakes and the world-class facility at Lake Karapiro," club president Carolyn Crawford said.
"Have a row on the river, learn the lingo, have a go on the ergs. We will feed you with a free sausage sizzle and parents are, of course, welcome to come and have coffee and cake, meet other parents and have a go in the coach's boat to see what the rowers do.
