Oropi crash causing power cut for 335 properties overnight

Power was out for 335 properties in Oropi overnight after a car crashed into a power box in the area.

A police spokeswoman said the crash happened on Oropi Rd, near Gamman Mill Rd just after 10pm.

Lines were down, so police notified electricity distributor Powerco, she said.

Powerco said power was restored at around 3.50am this morning.

There were no injuries.
