Hundreds of road patrol children are treated to a day out by the agencies in charge of Tauranga's road safety.
The annual Orange Day parade marches through the CBD and celebrates the efforts of the region's primary and intermediate students who have worked alongside Travel Safe and police in road safety and promoting active transport such as Travel Safe/Smart students, Road Patrols, Bus Monitors and Traffic Wardens.
Students dress in orange and carry their school banners with road safety messages or active transport messages relevant to their specific communities.
The parade starts on The Strand and marches along Harington St, Willow St, Spring St, Grey St, Elizabeth St and Devonport Rd before finishing back on The Strand. The march will involve a rolling road closure supported by the police.
