No doubt some groups will be upset by changes proposed under a new management plan for Mauao.
The new restrictions proposed in the draft Mauao Historic Reserve Management Plan include a new rule requiring people wanting to fly drones or unmanned aircraft over Mauao to get permission first.
Rock climbing will also be banned on Mauao unless a suitable new site can be found. No new memorial seats or plaques are to be permitted and scattering of ashes on the reserve will not be allowed.
