The rider of the motorbike is in a serious condition. Photo / File

One person is in a serious condition following a crash in Mount Maunganui last night.

A police spokeswoman confirmed a crash between a motorbike and a van took place about 5.10pm on Newton St.

A St John spokeswoman confirmed the rider of the motorbike was in a serious condition and was transported to Tauranga Hospital last night.

Four ambulances attended the scene at 5.09pm.
