Official result of flag referendum

The official results of the flag referendum have confirmed the current New Zealand flag is here to stay.

Preliminary results were released Thursday evening last week, and today have been confirmed by the Electoral Commission.

Total number of votes received were 2,140,895, which equals out to 67.78 per cent turnout.

The official result is available from www.electionresults.govt.nz. This includes a breakdown of votes by electorate.
