It's not surprising that New Zealand First is currently the fastest growing political party in the country. More and more New Zealanders, from a wide political spectrum, see themselves and their core beliefs reflected in our common sense policies that protect New Zealand's interest and reflect Kiwi culture.
As New Zealand First MPs, we continue to fight hard in Parliament, every week the House is in session, holding this Government to account for its reckless disregard for New Zealand and New Zealanders. When the House is not in session, we're busy meeting the members of our community at every level, making sure we're staying close to the issues, learning from the people that matter - you.
As our Party membership grows, our capacity to make a difference grows. And a difference is precisely what we bring to the table.
Free health-care for Under-13s is one great example of New Zealand First policies making a difference for everyone, particularly the most vulnerable.
Meanwhile, the current Government arrogantly pushes forward a multi-national trade agreement that would increase the costs of prescription medicine and delay the availability of low-cost generic drugs. The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) would also allow our government to be sued by billion-dollar multi-national foreign corporations like the cigarette industry, if the government's attempts to care for our people got in the way of the cigarette industry's ability to turn the highest possible profit.
I guess in this sense, the current Government is also trying to make a difference, to bring about change: a change that no one wants and that New Zealand doesn't stand to benefit from. There is one change, however, we would all benefit from: a change in Government.
