Nudists at a naturist park have been stripped of all their belongings.
The married Hamilton couple who are spending their Christmas break at the Katikati Naturist Park had their tent and everything inside it stolen on Monday night - apparently by another nudist.
The thief, who struck about 11pm, made off with
the $600 dome tent, sleeping bags, blankets clothing and toiletries.
The value of all the stolen property was more than $2110.
Constable John Fitzgerald said the suspected thief had been mingling with fellow campers during the day but then told park staff he had to leave in a hurry.
Police said once darkness fell the man loaded the tent and contents into a Mitsubishi Chariot van and drove off.
Police said they would like to speak to Jonathan Kareka, 47, who is thought to live in Opononi, Northland.
Anyone with information about the theft should contact Katikati police on 07 549 0004.
