Tauranga's rescue helicopter has flown two people needing urgent help to hospitals around the North Island.
The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Cape Runaway at 3.30pm on Saturday to help a 56-year-old man suffering from a serious cardiac condition. He was airlifted to Tauranga Hospital in a moderate condition.
The previous day the rescue helicopter was needed to transfer a maternity patient to Wellington Hospital. Due The Tauranga-based rescue helicopter flew to Palmerston North Airport, which then transported the patient to Wellington.
