The role for a new Mayor could be on the cards as reports suggest Mayor Stuart Crosby will not stand again.
It is understood Tauranga's Mayor will step down from his position at the end of his term to make way for a new face.
Local body elections were held last year in which Mr Crosby retained his role for a fourth term.
New-comer Kelvin Clout won a seat on Tauranga City Council and was appointed as Deputy Mayor.
Mr Crosby has been in the position since 2004.
