"He is a super hero, he has an adventure where he thinks he is a super hero but instead of saving the obvious things, he always saves something else."
Oscar said he drew inspiration from some of his favourite movies including Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings.
"I just like the super hero stuff in general so I thought I would based it off that and that's where I got my ideas from."
His favourite author was Rick Riordan and writing and English were probably his favourite subjects at school, he said.
"You can do whatever you want, it's creativity."
The Mount Maunganui Primary School student was not sure yet what he would get with his prize money just yet.
"There are just too many choices, I can't decide."
The Bay of Plenty Regional prize went to Rosie Tao Warren from Te Akau ki Papamoa School.
Rosie's tale, What's the Story, Blurb, won her $500 and $700 for her school to spend in Paper Plus.
Author and Paper Plus book ambassador Kerre Mclvor, who co-judged the entries, said there were lovely literary references in Rosie's story.
"Clearly Rosie loves reading and books, her story is beautifully constructed."
