A pearl necklace gifted to Tauranga MP Simon Bridges was among gifts received by MPs in the first month of the year.
Mr Bridges declared the necklace, which he opted to donate to the Parliamentary collection rather than wear himself.
The necklace was a gift from the Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources in Guanxi, a major pearl farming province in China. Mr Bridges said it was presented to him after a meeting in the Beehive.
The Register of Pecuniary Interests for MPs was released yesterday, outlining what assets and investments MPs have, and any gifts they had received in the year to January 31.
Prime Minister John Key declared 22 gifts, many related to his well-known love of golf.
