After months of plotting, planning and proposing to the Tauranga City Council, Mount Maunganui businesswomen Kelly Barriball from Gran's Loose Change and Rachelle Duffy from Idiom Boutique are proud to introduce The Little Big Markets.
The independent creative markets support established and emerging design and aim to connect with others through a creative collective.
"There are so many local designers and creatives hidden within the Mount and we wanted to create somewhere to showcase all of the amazing product and design that comes from our beachside town," said Mrs Duffy.
The Little Big Markets are this summer's Saturday morning must-visit in Mount Maunganui. Located next to Zespri on the corner of Matai St and Maunganui Rd, the innovative arena showcases vintage clothing, samples and seconds, jewellery, arts, crafts and more. You never know what treasures you may find.
"Having frequented Bondi Markets and Glebe Markets ... in Sydney, I know the benefits of having such a place within a community," said Ms Barriball. "Rachelle and I wanted to bring something new and vibrant to the Mount and we are so excited about launching The Little Big Markets."
Launching November 6 and pretty much every second Saturday throughout summer, The Little Big Markets will be well worth the visit on November 6 and 20, December 4 and 18, January 15 and 29, February 5 and 19, and March 12 and 26.
Confirmed regular stallholders include gran's loose change, Idiom Boutique, Neverland Collective, Nyne and Riddle Me This.
