Motorcyclist dies after crashing into water at Waiotahe, Ōpōtiki

A motorcyclist has died this afternoon after they crashed into the water in the Bay of Plenty.

Emergency services attempted CPR on the person but they died at the scene on Ohiwa Beach Rd at Waiotahe, Ōpōtiki, about 4pm, police said.

The motorcyclist had “gone off the road and into the water”, police said.

The Police Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
