Another 70 Tauranga City Council staff have been evacuated from their workspaces as tests confirmed more mould was present in the building.
Test results received by the council today showed a fungi called Chrysosporium was present on the second floor of the council's administration building at 91 Willow St.
Council communications manager Aimee Driscoll the fungi did not have the same health risks as the stachybotrys (toxic black mould) found throughout the rest of the building as it was not airborne however it was potentially harmful to health.
The fungi was not found in the office of the Mayor and chief executive or in the council chambers, councillors' lounge, cafe, governance and transportation department.
The 70 staff would be relocated during the next two days and all carpet from the area would be removed and the walls cleaned down. Air samples would be taken to confirm the building was safe.
