10.00pm: New Zealand First party leader Winston Peters is making a public press statement in Auckland after NZ First overcame the 5 per cent threshold to make it into parliament.
88 per cent of party votes have been counted and New Zealand First is currently holding 8.9 per cent of it.
Tauranga candidate Clayton Mitchell will claim a place as a list MP.
Mr Mitchell only needed the party to make it over the 5 per cent threshold to make it in as he sat at number six on the party list.
