A man is due to appear in court this afternoon after being arrested in Pyes Pā.
A SunLive reader who was driving from Rotorua to Tauranga on State Highway 36/Pyes Pā Rd on Tuesday morning says armed police had blocked off a side road with a police car.
“There were police everywhere on Pyes Pā Rd near the Taumata Rd intersection,” says the SunLive reader.
“I saw at least six or seven cars, and the police were armed.
“One of the roads I went past had a police car blocking the road.
