A 20-year-old man is in a serious but stable condition after sustaining burns while adding petrol to a fire last night, a Waikato Hospital representative said.
The Hamilton man suffered serious burns to his arms and legs in Athenree, near Waihi Beach.
A St John Ambulance crew was first onthe scene and called the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter about 6pm.
The man is now in Waikato Hospital's high dependency unit
