The identity of a woman accused of murder in relation to the death of a man at a Brookfield property last night, is suppressed.
The accused faced a charge of murder when she appeared in the Tauranga District Court today.
The defendant’s lawyer Tony Richard-Simms successfully sought interim name suppression and suppression of identifying details for his client.
Judge Melinda Mason remanded the woman in custody by consent to next appear in the High Court at Tauranga on September 27.
Judge Mason also ordered a medical report to determine the defendant’s fitness to stand trial, as requested by Crown solicitor Anna Pollett on behalf of the police.
