The man killed in a crash on the Kaimai Range last week has now been named.
He was Ahmed Shariff, 37, of Cambridge.
Shariff was involved in a crash on State Highway 29 near McLaren Falls Rd about 4.30am on Friday. Shariff had been badly hurt and taken to Tauranga Hospital but did not survive his injuries.
The New Zealand Police Serious Crash Unit was investigating.
Police said in a statement their thoughts were with Shariff's family and friends at this time.
